Regional risk management support
Maravi was retained to provide risk management support for a cluster of
conservation organisations engaged in several projects across Southern
Africa. Maravi developed a common risk management standard and
document suite designed to assist with decision-making and implement
mitigation measures according to a changing threat environment.
In addition, Maravi provides monthly security bulletins to help the client
understand rapidly changing operating contexts.
Items that were delivered as part of this task included:
Risk assessment, including:
• Identification and evaluation of risks
• Recommendations
• Action plan to address identified risks
Minimum standard document suite, including:
• Risk management policy
• Risk trigger matrix
• Risk-related SOPs which included:
• Personal security standards
• Journey management procedures
• Incident reporting
• Basic IT security practices
• Incident and crisis management
• Other organisational risk-related requirements
• On-going risk management and support (for four years).
