Agricultural compliance

Maravi was engaged to conduct a risk and organisational resilience assessment on an agricultural project in an isolated district. The scope covered two large farms in remote locations; an out-grower scheme; and the safety of senior management staff living in isolated locations. The project encompassed a risk assessment and analysis of the organization’s current resilience including existing incident and crisis management processes. All deliverables were completed in line with IFC Performance Standard 4: Community Health, Safety, and Security.
The final report included detailed recommendations for enhancing current measures and processes as well as guidance on strengthening organisational resilience and existing crisis management mechanisms. Following a sustained period of civil unrest, our consultants were engaged by a consortium of agricultural entities to establish, train and lead a crisis management team. During several attempts at intimidating staff and disrupting some of the companies’ activities, crisis management mechanism established by our team and adopted by the consortium were activated to successfully avoid harm and disruption. On-going support Maravi provides ongoing support to a global agricultural senior operating in Africa. Amongst other areas, we assist the organisation with the following: • Risk management • Crisis management • Security management • Process integrity audits • Investigations • Resilience and sustainability
